<Closing
Remarks Summary>
Through today's symposium we have reconfirmed how important
it is to provide ubiquitous ITS, and that this task has
been entrusted to organizations such as ours, which are
involved in the field. By way of these lectures, we have
learned that achieving the use of ITS in a ubiquitous Internet
society can resolve road traffic and environmental problems,
and yield large economic effects as a leading industry
in the 21st Century. We have also studied the importance
of probe systems.
In order to maintain our lead in ITS at the global level,
connections with related government offices have to be
intensified, ITS capable of offering improved convenience
and safety on a new level must be promoted through cooperation
with industry, academia and governments, and the awareness
of ITS must be made an integral part of everyday life.
In closing the symposium, on the behalf of the ITS Info-communications
Forum, I wish to express our sincere gratitude to all
of those involved. We look forward to your continued
cooperation as the members that participated here today
work to promote ITS info-communications systems to yet
an entirely new level.
